Longfellow Hall Renovation
(December 2013–December 2014)
- It enables the school to relocate off-campus Research activities and Programs in Professional Education to campus, reducing lease costs and furthering our goal of creating a more cohesive campus, centered on Appian Way
- project will rework the 4th floor and create a new 5th floor, which will impact approximately 20,000 square feet of program space.
- Creates new flexible classroom and meeting space on the 3rd floor and new office space on the 4th and 5th floors.
- Updates major mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure (Including a new elevator serving all floors of Longfellow)
- Adds new life safety systems (fire sprinkler and fire alarm) throughout the entire building
- Sustainable Construction: Targeting Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification
- Projected to reduce our greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint by ~6%, bringing our overall reduction since 2006 to ~27%
